Victoria becoming the Women's Moth World Champion!
Victoria becoming the Women's Moth World Champion!

It’s been an exciting month for the Vantage team on and off the water! Nicolai and Victoria recently raced at the Moth World Championships in Lake Garda, with Emanuele racing at the 420 Youth Worlds. A huge congrats to both Victoria and Emanuele with spectacular results, with Victoria becoming Women's Moth World Champion and Emanuele winning a World Championship Bronze!

A special shout-out as well to Enzo Balanger, who won the 2025 Moth World Championship after an incredible performance. Enzo has been a huge supporter of Vantage since the beginning, and we are incredibly proud to see Vantage being used as a core part of his journey to becoming a world champion. Congrats Enzo!

Putting Vantage to the Test

While our development team has been busy sailing the last month, we have taken the opportunity to actively use Vantage for our own sailing. Logging activity after activity has uncovered a lot of strengths, but also areas in need for improvement. Your feedback has been invaluable, and we’re now taking time to refine our roadmap based on everything we’ve learned.

Vantage 1.3.0: Simplified Activity Uploads

To make tracking your sessions smoother than ever, we’ve introduced two major features:

1. Garmin Automatic Uploads

Seamlessly connect your Garmin device to Vantage:

  1. Open the Vantage App and tap your name at the top of the sidebar.

  2. Under Partner Integrations, select Garmin Connect.

  3. Follow the on‑screen instructions, and be sure to set your Garmin to Every Second Recording.

  4. Log your activities as Sailing on

your Garmin device—otherwise, they won’t sync to Vantage.

Once linked, your sailing logs will flow automatically into the app, no manual uploads needed.

2. In‑App Activity Recording

For those without a dedicated GPS device, our built‑in recorder has you covered:

  1. In the app, tap the + icon on the bottom bar and choose Record Activity.

  2. Grant the app permission to access your location—activity recording is the only time the app will use GPS data.

  3. Press Start, sail freely, then tap Stop to save and analyze your activity right away!

Now you can capture every sail and analyze it directly from your phone.

Other Improvements & Bug Fixes

In addition to the major upload features, this release includes:

  • Optimized Activity Feed for faster loading and clearer summaries

  • Simplified Leg Analysis Selection—switch between legs with the new dropdown

  • Various UI Tweaks and Bug Fixes for an improved and more reliable experience

What’s on Deck: Upcoming Features

Here’s a preview of what’s coming in our next update:

  • Activity Comments!

Share insights and encouragement by commenting on your connections’ activities.

  • Improved True Wind Detection

We’re shifting to a machine‑learning approach that will improve accuracy, but also provides a confidence score on detected wind direction. If confidence is low, you’ll get a quick prompt to adjust the wind angle, ensuring more accurate post-sail analysis.

  • Start‑Line Analysis

Dive deeper into your race starts with replays, analysis, and specialized metrics and visualizations (currently in active development).

  • AI Activity Insights!

This is a feature that has been in the works for a long time. After initial testing, the results look very promising and we are excited to share it with you all soon! The insights will focus on general observations within your activities and guide your analysis in the right direction. This will initially only be rolled out to a few selected classes.

Updated User Guide

Our User Guide has been refreshed to include detailed instructions on Garmin integration, in‑app recording, and the latest UI enhancements. We highly recommend giving it a read to make the most of every feature.

Thank you for being part of the Vantage community and helping us shape the future of sailing analytics. Stay tuned for more innovations—and fair winds on your next sail!
