A year of data and momentum.
2025 was our first full year building Vantage Sailing in the real world: on the water, at regattas, and alongside sailors and coaches pushing performance forward. From early beta testing to major feature launches and global events, this year laid the foundation for what's coming next.
Here's a look back at the moments that defined our first year on the water.
From idea to App Store
January – Beta testing at Moth Worlds
We kicked off the year at the 2024 Moth Worlds in New Zealand, running early beta testing with some of the fastest foiling sailors in the world. This was our first chance to see Vantage used intensively in real racing conditions, and it directly shaped how workflows, analysis and community building evolved over the year.

April – Official launch
At the end of April, Vantage Sailing officially launched on the App Store and Google Play! What started as a beta quickly became a daily training and racing tool for sailors across multiple classes and disciplines.
On the water with the community
June – Foiling Week
At Foiling Week 2025, we introduced daily data competitions, where sailors could win a free year of Vantage membership based purely on performance metrics. It was an exciting way to turn post-session analysis into friendly competition, and a glimpse of how data can add a new layer to regattas.
Alongside industry experts Diego Biotin, Drew Follett of Vakaros, and Nicolai Jacobsen, our CEO, Foiling Week hosted a panel discussion on Technology and Innovation in Foiling Race Management. The session sparked an engaging conversation on how data-driven tools and new technologies are raising the bar for foiling events, from smarter race operations to a more dynamic experience for sailors and race teams alike.

July – Moth Worlds
At the Moth World Championship, Vantage was firmly embedded at the top of the fleet, with both the men’s and women’s world champions actively using the platform. The event highlighted how performance data is increasingly part of modern Moth development, from equipment testing to on-water learning.
Newly crowned Moth World Champion, Enzo Balanger used Vantage in the lead-up to the event to test and compare equipment, by benchmarking performance across setups, while Women’s World Champion Victoria Schultheis used Vantage to compare her data to the fleet to accelerate her learning curve in the class.
September – Switch Global Championships
We brought the same daily data competitions to the first ever Switch Globals, supporting a new, high-performance class. Throughout the event, sailors who engaged most deeply with their performance data were rewarded free Vantage memberships - reinforcing the role of data-driven analysis in the next generation of sailing.
November – Italian Match Racing Championships
As part of the Italian Match Racing Championships, our very own Emanuele Collia led a seminar focused on the application of data analysis in sailing. The session demonstrated how Vantage can be used as an effective debrief and performance review tool, while also providing an opportunity to gather direct feedback from sailors on the user experience and practical integration into their training workflows.

Major feature launches
July – Garmin Auto Upload and In-App Recording
In July, we released one of our biggest updates yet. We added Garmin connectivity, allowing sailors to upload their sailing activity from a Garmin with zero workflow friction. When the session ends, it automatically uploads to Vantage, ready for immediate analysis and insights, no manual steps required. We also made Vantage more accessible to sailors without dedicated recording hardware, by adding In-App Recording. Instead, you can record your sailing activity directly in the app, making Vantage easier to get started with than ever.

September – Video Player released
In September, we launched one of our most requested tools: the Vantage Desktop Video Player. Designed specifically for coaches, teams, and debriefs, it allows video to be reviewed alongside performance data. Turning sessions into clearer conversations and faster learning loops.
2025 by the numbers
Here's what the Vantage community accomplished this year:
Total hours logged: 22,000h+
Total distance: 335,000km+
Sailors using Vantage: 1,600+
Sessions uploaded: 10,000+
Total maneuvers: 390,000+
Active boat classes: 64
Fastest recorded peak speed: 40.8kts
Looking ahead: early 2026
While 2025 was about building the foundation, early 2026 is about unlocking much more control over how sailors log, filter, and analyze their data.
A major update is coming - focused on:
Faster workflows
Greater customization
New and clearer insights
More precise analysis of the moments that matter
Without giving too much away, you'll soon be able to:
Move faster when logging trims
Decide exactly which parts of a session get analyzed
See your data more clearly than ever
Break activities into meaningful sections like line-ups and races
We'll be sharing more very soon. Stay tuned on our socials.
Thank you
None of this happens without the sailors, coaches, and teams who use Vantage, give feedback, and push the platform forward with us. Whether you joined us at a regatta, logged your first session this year, or helped shape features during beta - thank you for being part of the journey
Here's to a strong finish to 2025, and an even bigger start to 2026, as we prep for the next racing season.

Is it possible to have more data overlays, like Vakaros data in combination with garmin data, heart rate?
